GoReact - an cloud-based video feedback system

  • Click on links below or go to https://help.goreact.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002759871 for more detailed information with how-to screenshots and videos!
  • NOTE: If you will be recording a classroom, you will need to get parent permission. Here is guidance generally on video recording students and privacy issues as well as some forms that can be used. You should also check policies in the districts you are working in.

Getting Started

  • Create an account at https://get.goreact.com/. Instructor accounts are free, students pay for usage.
    • College of Ed instructors follow directions here when you are ready for students to use their paid accounts.
  • Watch the video in the Demo Course which is created for you when you enroll
  • Create a course and then share a link or invite students individually via email  https://help.goreact.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002883591-Inviting-users
  • Instructors can only upload a total of 60 minutes of video across all of your courses, but they can upload video as a student (called a presenter in GoReact)

Courses and Feedback

  • Comments are time-stamped and editable
  • Instructors and students can upload videos and provide feedback using:
    • markers (shared tags or labels)
    • text comments
    • audio comments
    • video commentary
  • There are 4 types of activities in GoReact courses
    • students submit videos for feedback from instructor or peers (self-submit)
    • instructor posts a video as a prompt and students record a video response as they are watching it (stimulus)
    • students live feed video for feedback from the instructor (live event)
    • instructor posts a video as a prompt and students respond with comments and markers (comment only)

Shared Assessment Tools

Create assessments and store them in the Library for use across multiple courses and instructors. Assessment tools can be activated for students or instructor use.
  • Rubrics - drag elements into the document to generate a custom rubric
    goreact.wistia.com/medias/ob2yj0wgjg
  • Markers - create a set of shared tags to mark key features of a video and add optional comments
    goreact.wistia.com/medias/9zwrh23xbd
  • Quiz - Setting an activity to test mode limits student response to a single attempt and creates an optional time limit
